Wuchang Shipbuilding signs a contract with LD SEAPLANE SAS for Three Sail-assisted Ro-Ro Ships

news-details

China State Shipbuilding Corporation continues to practice the concept of green development and has successively signed multiple green ship construction orders to contribute to the "double carbon" strategic goal.

On January 2, Wuchang Shipbuilding officially signed a contract with LD SEAPLANE SAS, a subsidiary of French LDA Company, for three sail-assisted ro-ro ships.

Three ships powered by methanol power and sails

After delivery, the ship will transport Airbus aircraft components across the Atlantic between its production base in Saint-Nazaire, France, and the single-aisle aircraft assembly line in Mobile, Alabama, USA.

The methanol fuel power + wind auxiliary propulsion system is equipped with 2 methanol fuel main engines, 2 methanol fuel auxiliary engines, 6 Flettner rotating air cylinders and 2 sets of stable fins, and is equipped with an energy-saving optimization management system, an energy efficiency management monitoring system and a gas emission monitoring system. and other advanced automation systems can significantly reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions under various weather conditions, and significantly improve ship propulsion and transportation efficiency and economic benefits.

The carrying capacity has been greatly increased.

Compared with the current cargo ship that can transport 3 to 4 sets of aircraft components, this type of ship will be able to transport 6 sets of single-aisle aircraft components, mainly including wings, fuselage, engine pylons, horizontal and vertical tails, etc. and about 70 40-foot containers.

7 ships reserved for ammonia and LNG dual fuel.

In the new year, Beihai Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading signed a construction contract for four 210,000-ton Ammonia DF/DF Ready bulk carriers with Singapore's East Pacific Shipping Company (EPS), and signed a contract for three 210,000-ton LNG ships with Japan's Mitsui Lines. Dual fuel powered bulk carrier construction contract.

The 210,000-ton Ammonia DF/DF Ready bulk carrier was independently designed by CSDC, a design company affiliated with Beihai Shipbuilding. It can meet the requirements of the third phase (Phase III) of the ship energy efficiency design index (EEDI) indicator. At the same time, the ship meets the ammonia fuel preset. Later An ammonia fuel main engine will be configured to ensure that ammonia fuel can be used to achieve "zero-carbon" operation throughout the ship's life cycle in the future.

The 210,000-ton LNG dual-fuel powered bulk carrier was also independently developed and designed by CSDC. It is a new generation of green and environmentally friendly ship. Through comprehensive optimization of ship design, the ship has better fuel and gas economy. EEDI is about 44% lower than the baseline value, SOx emissions are reduced by more than 90%, and NOx emissions are reduced by more than 20%. In gas mode, it can meet the endurance requirements for two round-trip voyages on the China-Australia route and the round-trip voyage on the China-Pakistan route.
